The Sauti Sol singer gave his opinion in an interview.
According to Bien Aime Sol, marriage is not about possessing another human being. During an interview at the opening of his new bar last week, the Sauti Sol frontman said marriage is “about having someone who has your back…”
“I don’t think another person can own another. So when people say to me, “Your marriage has a lot of freedom,” I think I’m already a free person. Nobody can own me,” Bien said.
The singer went on to say that the societal pressures of having children with his wife Chiki Kuruka don’t bother him. When asked about children, he replied, “The expectations you have of me are not mine, they are yours.”
The singer recently opened a bar and restaurant along Mombasa Road in Imaara Mall called Manhattan Kenya.
The singer also spoke about politics and the group’s controversial case against Azimio. The group recently released a new song, “In My Head,” in collaboration with rapper Khaligraph Jones, which urges Kenyans to vote wisely.
