Quickmart expands its branch network with the opening of a new branch in Kisii

The Quickmart supermarket has opened a new store in Kisii Town as part of its expansion strategy aimed at having a store in all of Kenya‘s leading cities.

Located in the heart of the central business district of Kisii, the store is the retailer’s 46th in 12 counties in Kenya. The market launch on Friday falls at a time when the supermarket is celebrating its 15th anniversary and the milestone by rewarding customers for their loyalty with the “Sherehe Ibambe” consumer campaign.

During the store’s official opening, Betty Wamaitha, Director of Marketing at Quickmart, shared the retailer’s expansion goals, bringing its unique offering, which includes its Fresh & Easy concept, to consumers across the country.

“As part of our ongoing 15th anniversary celebrations, our business strategy is to consistently serve the domestic market and bring our fresh and daily offerings closer to the Kisii community and all travelers traveling through Kisii City. We guarantee our employees and buyers the peace of mind that our stores adhere to ministry of health protocols, ”said Wamaitha.

The 46th store complements the currently strong workforce of 5000 employees, who are spread across the branches and represent Quickmart as the main ambassador and serve well over 3 million customers every day.

As a tier 1 supermarket, Quickmart Kisii will also create a platform for farmers in Kisii and the surrounding area to regularly deliver over 30 percent of fresh produce to the store. This expands the current supply network of over 600 businesses with over 24,000 farmers as beneficiaries of market access for their agricultural products.

The well-known Quickmart grocery, grocery, electronics and furniture stores include a full-service bakery with skilled workers for bread specialties, patisserie, cakes and hot ready meals. The store will also offer fresh pieces in its butcher’s segment.

Quickmart’s expansion network began in 2006 with its first store in Nakuru city, expanding its presence in Nairobi, and gradually expanding its presence in Kiambu, Kajiado, Nakuru, Laikipia, Machakos, Trans Zoia, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kilifi and Mombasa as well as the latest Branch in Kisii. This was fueled by the merger between Quickmart and Tumaini Supermarkets in August 2020, which was approved by the Kenyan competition authority.

The ongoing “Sherehe Ibambe” festival has rewarded many customers with prizes worth millions of shillings on household electronics and shopping vouchers in all stores with a highlight of 5 brand new cars.

Quick Mart is a 46-store supermarket chain that was founded in Nakuru in 2006 and currently has over 12 counties in Nairobi, Kiambu, Kajiado, Nakuru, Laikipia, Machakos, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Kilifi and Mombasa as well as the latest Kisii- Branch.
